11/24/03:  DEAR CUSTOMERS: I spent the past weekend at Chicagopex. It was a great show! Every dealer to whom I spoke was smiling. I, too, left pleased. Just take a look at all the new SOLD signs on this web site. I write about Chicagopex to note that nearly all my sales were to the bourse dealers. They especially sought the high quality and interesting covers that I stock. I suggest that my retail customers take note of this. The nice merchandise that you find here does not stay long. You may be looking at it again soon, but this time across a dealer’s table and at a considerably higher price. I can offer my merchandise at prices attractive to dealers because I buy well and my overhead is low. As an Internet and occasional "vest pocket" dealer, I haven’t nearly the overhead of the traditional bourse dealer. So, take note. The next time you see something here that interests you, but you think that maybe you can shop around and get it cheaper, think again. The attractive and uncommon material that you find on The Classic Cancel will not stay long because the smart ones, the dealers, know when the price is right. Good hunting!

12/15/02Happy Holidays from The Classic Cancel.  New items have been added throughout the site:  NYFM, 1869 issues, advertising covers, Banknotes, Official stamps and covers.  Take particular note of Foreign Destinations.  I have added a new page 4.  Note an early circular to Trieste, covers from a single correspondence to Finland, a mixed U.S. and Mexico franking, and more.  Enjoy.

11/15/02:  Highlights include:  a nice U.S. Express Mail cover; scarce Pacific NW covers to Finland; a selection of advertising covers; and a couple of scarce machine cancels.

10/24/02:  I have today added a variety of items.  Notable ones include a great California postmark on 10 cent 1851 issue cover; some nice "76" centennial killers on 3 cent greens; a scarce Fort Concho, Texas cover; and a terrific involute flag machine cancel.

9/30/02:  Highlights include three different on-cover examples of scarce and highly popular skull-and-crossbones killers from the Banknote period; a postal entire used to Bulgaria, an extremely scarce destination; and three nice examples of New York circular mail killers, including a terrific NYFM killer used domestically.

8/13/02:  EXCITING!  That is the word that I use to describe the nearly four dozen new items added today.  Wonderful fancy cancels include:  a Rutherford B. Hayes presidential campaign killer; a superb New York foreign mail floral geometric on #76; a superb blue killer showing the four suits of the card deck; "kicking mules" and more.  Covers include: a Pawnee, IL tomahawk killer; a very clean O59 (3 cent State Department) cover posted from Bolivia.  The list goes on, but why just read about them?  Take a look and enjoy your visit to The Classic Cancel!

8/04/02:  I have added a number of new covers.  In particular, look at advertising, Banknotes and 1851-57 issues covers.

7/27/02:  Highlights include in Destinations: early Australia, a Postal Agency Shanghai, China, and a Dead Letter Office cover to Brazil.  Also, see additions to Department Officials, including a very clean 3 cent Navy cover.
