4929 #UX7, fine, postmarked HIKA, WI (Manitowoc County DPO, 1858-1954) and canceled by a fine strike of unreported HIKA town name in grid killer. Killer shows deterioration, especially in letter H.  Sheboygan, JUN 14, 1883 receiving stamp. $30

4857 #UX7, fine, canceled by an XF strike of numeral 10 in circle obsolete rate hand stamp with JERSEY, OH, APR 17 (1883) postmark. Card has printed announcement of Pataskala Agricultural Society Fair on reverse. Small fault at UL. $35
4815 #UX3, VF, canceled by an XF strike of 5 point star killer with poor Cincinnati, OH postmark. Back has nice printed advertisement for HALL'S SAFE and LOCK CO. promising a $1000 bounty to anyone who proves that one of their safes has ever been burglarized.  Scarce early advertising on postal. $25

4737 #210, fine, on UX7, paying re-mailed card rate for mutual insurance assessment payment confirmation. Sent from Westfield, MA (no cancel) to Watertown, MA (2/5/84 receiving), returned and re-mailed 2/21/84 to Watertown.  Uncommon use. $35
4540 #UX3, fine, bearing an XF-superb strike of purple rectangular geometric killer (Cole GE-65) with matching LINCOLN, ILL. postmark, AUG 31, 1875 usage.  Minor staining and corner bends at left.  Small black SEP 3 simplex receiving date stamp at lower left. SOLD

4220 #U76 one cent entire on orange canceled by a VF strike of New York circular mail fancy pinwheel killer (Cole GCR-138). Contains original prices current circular (scan) dated November 15, 1873, verifying date of killer usage. SOLD

4177 #UX5, F-VF, canceled by a VF strike of PEO. & TERRE H. AGT, JUN 6, 1879 postmark with XF letter W (west) killer. Towle records the postmark as 716-A-1, noted in blue.  The item is route Peoria, IL to Terre Haute, IN via Illinois Midland R.R.  Attractive railroad item. $35
3886 #UX5, F-VF, canceled by a VF+ strike of large 4-pane grid killer with each grid angled differently (Whitfield 3933) with fair-fine PITTSBURGH, PA NOV 8, 1879 postmark. Scarce fancy killer. $45
3445 #UX7, VF, bearing a XF strike of unlisted fancy cancel of West Rutland, VT, postmarked JAN 27 (1882). The killer consists of the WEST RUTLAND town name around an interior triangle. Great item, rare.
