5456 #UX5, VF, canceled by XF strike of reddish purple 6-segment propeller wedge geometric killer (Cole GR-45) with matching ZANESVILLE, OH, DEC 3, 1878 postmark. Nice color fancy. $20
5461 #UX5, VF, canceled by VF+ strike of very unusual large, thick blue ring with internal slug killer with matching PEKIN, ILL., APR 26 (1879) postmark (Tazewell County, 1832-), killer unlisted in major references. $20
5233 #UX5, VF, canceled by an exquisitely detailed strike of magenta Roman soldiers profile killer (Whitfield 92) with matching HARMONY, OWEN CO., KY, APR 22, 1881 ( inverted year) postmark. This is easily the finest existing example from any of the few towns for which this rare, commercial rubber fancy killer is reported. (Cole and Whitfield list Cornwall Bridge, CT and South Lee, MA.  Neither record Harmony, KY.)  An absolutely wonderful item for the card or county postmark collector or for anyone who loves things of beauty.  Ex-Beane.
