5509 FLS, VF, with fine strike of red ALBANY, N.Y. postmark with matching VF numeral 2, a drop rate to Albany address. This is a 1848 printed Albany Argus newspaper affidavit of publication of printed notice. A very unusual item for the stampless period.  Neat! $65

5423 Folded printed circular, VF, dated Nov. 1, 1851 regarding amendments to the Constitution of New Hampshire, postmarked by VF+ strike of CONCORD, N.H. 1 PAID. A scarce early circular with scarce rate mark. $125
5471 Stampless envelope, VF, intact and unsealed with VF red PAID and manuscript "Circular" and "Pd", mailed to New Orleans, LA. Flap bears brown seal, "MOUNT DESALE ACADEMY of THE VISITATION, NEAR BALTIMORE".  A very scarce (unembossed) cameo on a stampless circular.

5420 FLS canceled by VF WILKES BARRE (Wilkesbarre), PA, MAR 9 (1852) postmark with superb strike of PAID 3 in oval. This is a late use of the split name postmark, unlisted with this rate mark. $35
5358 Stampless embossed lady's envelope, VF, canceled by VF-XF strike of NORTH AMHERST, MASS. double ring, 15 JAN postmark with large matching arched PAID 3 Cts in circle rate hand stamp. Very pretty and eye-catching.

5320 Folded printed circular, VF, bearing an XF strike of LOWELL, MASS, JAN 30 PAID postmark, used only on circular mail.  Postmark is listed in "Domestic Postmarks Showing Integral Rate Within the Townmark," James W. Milgram, M.D., The Chronicle of U.S. Classics Postal Issues, FEB 2011. This 1854 circular was sent to Chelmsford Co. stockholders.  Quite scarce and a great example of this highly collectible area.  Ex-Donald Thompson collection. $95

5246 FLS, VF, canceled by VF+ strike of Litchfield, Ct / March 10 (1808) straight line dated postmark in what appears to be an unlisted red ink, 17 cent manuscript rate (200-250 miles) to Pompey, NY. Family letter. Very scarce early stampless straight line postmark.
