4902 FLS, VF, bearing an XF strike of red PALATINE-BRIDGE, N.Y., 1827 year date postmark (Montgomery County, very scarce style) with postmaster signature free frank.  Letter sheet is turned, with Herkimer, NY manuscript postmark inside (scan).  Addressee used it to send an immediate response to attorney requesting assistance with writs for the local sheriff to serve. $85
4903 FLS, fine, bearing a VF-XF strike of pretty apple green DELHI, NY, SEP 9 (1854) postmark with matching PAID 3 in circle rate mark. Letter is about possible sale of a fast horse.  Nice Onondaga County item.

4874 VF intact envelope, no content with XF strike of INDEPENDENCE, IOWA, 6 JULY postmark (circa 1851) with VF PAID 3 in circle rate mark.  No stampless usages of this postmark reported from this Iowa town.  Attractive. $45
4871 SFL, VF external lettersheet, no content, with VF strikes of HUDSON, N. YORK fancy postmark with boxed date and scroll and small italic PAID with manuscript 8 (rated for not more than 40 miles).  The letter is to the New York state comptroller in Albany and has an internal pen note, 'An awd. Of the Expense of making "the Susquehannah turnpike Road"'.  Internal pencil docketing suggests circa 1805 usage. $30
4875 Stampless envelope, fine, intact, bearing a VF strike of blue OVID, NY ("N.Y" fancy letters), FEB 22 postmark with VF matching PAID and boxed Roman numeral X (10 cent) rate mark, this marking unlisted in ASCC.
