4037 Stampless envelope, intact, small faults, bearing a VF strike of magenta PLYMOUTH-HOLLOW, Ct. balloon postmark with internal 5 rate, to Meridian, CT. Pretty, unusual and scarce color for postal marking during stampless period.

3965 SFL, VF, no content, bearing a fine strike of large green oval NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND postmark with left slanting lettering (circa 1820s) to Warwick (RI). Scarce early postmark. $75
3935 SFL, VF and fresh, canceled by a VF-XF strike of three line red EXETER / JULY 7 / N. H. postmark (Rockingham County), manuscript day date and 6 cent rate, 1835 usage. Very attractive, desirable and scarce. Unusual with month fully spelled. $150
3936 SFL, fine, bearing a VF-XF strike of red ORFORD-VILLE, N.H. large arched postmark (Grafton County DPO), OCT 6, 1845 usage. Scarce and unusual postmark style. $150
3905 SFL, VF, bearing a VF strike of red EASTON, MARYLAND, MAR 6 (1833) postmark, manuscript PAID 12 1/2, to Philadelphia. Letter is commercial correspondence between attorneys. Nominal file fold separations.  Clean item. $75
3862 SFL, VF, canceled by fine red MANLIUS, NY postmark, mailed to Morristown, NJ. Cover bears VF blue hand stamped 18 3/4 rate mark, very scarce and unlisted. "Single" noted at bottom left, probably denoting a single rate for distance >150 miles.

3344 Stampless cover front bearing a VF strike of scarce and desirable fancy red negative 5 in star rating hand stamp with matching ABERDEEN, MI postmark. The star has a negative outline with 5 tiny stars within the points.  Scarce and desirable early Mississippi postal marking.

3304 FLS, VF, bearing a VF strike of red FROM STEAMER OSCEOLA. double rimmed oval Mississippi River steamboat vessel-named marking (Milgram 1040, D value $150-300), 1853 commercial letter from Grenada, MS to New Orleans, part of the Buchannan Carroll correspondence.  The strike on this FLS is as good as illustrated in Milgram.  Neat item. $225 n3304.jpg (34297 bytes)
