5427 #212, fine, sound tied by 4 bar purple killer on XF intact wrapper (W301) with VF South Weymouth, MASS., NOV 16, 1887 double ring commercial rubber postmark (Norfolk County DPO, 1831-1901). Extremely attractive. $40
5410 #212, F-VF, canceled by an XF SOTN simplexed strike of commercial rubber scarab killer on neatly opened cover with VF matching FAIRFIELD, PA., MAR 20, 1888 double circle postmark (Adams County, 1798-). $20
5318 #182, fine, bearing bold large letter R precancel on locally addressed wrapper (no town name). Wrapper covered with several pencil notations, mostly biblical, but on reverse there is additional notation, "Rod raised an addition on the south side of his mill Feb. 25, 1882 of in or George Haskins". This very scarce precancel letter is listed as Whitfield 6088 and its origin remains unknown. SOLD
5195 #183, VF-XF, sound copy, tied by XF-superb strike of large BROOKLYN, NY fancy geometric killer (unlisted) on VF unreduced locally mailed cover, neatly opened at right, small piece of back flap missing. GEM fancy cancel. $60
4981 #184, VF, SE, canceled by a superb SOTN strike of negative letter B in starburst (Cole Lb-51) with WORCESTER, MASS postmark on intact cover, edge faults, including tear into address at bottom. A great fancy killer. $25
4907 #150, fine, tied by bold crossroads killer on cover with scarce SAN FRANCISCO STEAMSHIP, OCT 28 postmark, mailed to George G. Kimball, Office of the Savannah Daily Advertiser, Savannah, GA, an inbound steamship cover from unknown source. Cover has neat repair to area to the upper left of the stamp, not affecting postmark and slightly affecting killer.  Cover is otherwise fresh and unreduced, with left and right ends of back flap torn away. SOLD
4748 #207, bearing a superb SOTN strike of rare MITTINEAGUE, MASS. negative outline numeral 7 in shield surrounded by 13 rays on cover with MAR 20 postmark. Cover opened roughly at right damaging UR stamp corner, stain at left.  Despite these faults, this is likely the finest on-cover example of this wonderful Mittineague fancy cancel extant with wonderful eye-appeal. 4489 #182, VF, sound, tied by an incredible strike of a giant, oblong hand carved circle of V wedges on a wrapper to Romeo, TN. Source of killer unknown. Wrapper opened along top edge. A WOW killer!  (HCS) $75
4357 #158, VF-XF, sound, canceled by a VF SOTN strike of fancy 6-petal leaf killer (Rohloff L-15) with WATERBURY, CT, MAY 3 postmark (1876) on VF unreduced cover, small part of back flap gone. Attractive and desirable example of this Waterbury fancy killer.  (HCS) SOLD

4331 #178, fine tied by VF strike of large negative Maltese cross killer with NEW YORK P.O. APR 27 (1876) postmark on XF printed bankruptcy notice. Scarce station E tombstone carrier stamp on reverse. $50

4178 #208, F-VF, tied by quartered cork killer with VF Columbus, OH postmark on cover to New Canaan, CT (back stamped), 1882 New York TRANSIT back stamp. Scarce stamp on small cover. Ex-Starnes. $75
3938 #178, fine, tied by bold strike of fancy large dot it circle killer with DORCHESTER STA. MASS. postmark on VF intact cover to Roxbury, MA. Neat. $25
3826 #179 pair, fine, plus #158 on registered cover from PORTCHESTER, NY to Vermilllion, OH. Cover is F-VF, intact with part of removed registry receipt on back. Blue dry goods dealer corner card advertisement.  The right stamp of the pair distinctly shows under-inking of lettering giving the appearance of hollowness. $45

3415 #183, fine, just tied by superb, bold strike of negative 5-point star killer with matching PETERSBURG, VA postmark on fine intact cover. Very eye-catching cancel.
