1869 Issues, Stamps (#1)

Item # Description Price Picture
4448 #112, fair-fine, canceled by an XF strike of small negative square and compass in circle killer, an unlisted Masonic in S-E. Killers this nice, especially a Masonic fancy, are rare on this issue. Minor small corner bend at lower left.  (HCS) $250
4445 #112, fine, canceled by a fine SOTN strike of numeral 10 in circle obsolete rate marking. The 10 has grid cuts, similar to Skinner-Eno NS-J 23 from Manchester, OH, but the cuts run from UL to LR on this stamp, opposite from NS-J 23.  Stamp has small corner creases at upper right.  A very scarce and unusual killer for this stamp and issue.  (HCS) $85
4952 #113, fine bottom margin copy, tiny faults, canceled by a superb SOTN strike of large letter P in circle killer. This killer is unlisted in major references. Ex-Hubert Skinner.  A terrifically eye-catching killer.  (HCS) $150

3976 #113, fine fresh copy bearing a VF+ strike of negative OK fancy cancel, probably Skinner-Eno LC-OK 30 from Ballston, NY. Small faults. Scarce fancy cancel on 1869 issue stamp.

SOLD

4768 #114, fine sound pair, interior perfs incompletely punched, canceled by a partial ST. LOUIS, MO postmark duplexed to an unusual curved "keystone" killer. Also possibly a set of initials; the inner part appears like a letter "R". $40
4769 #114, fine, bearing an XF SOTN strike of blue star fancy killer. $15
4623 #114, fine, tiny faults, canceled by a bold and intense red curved grid killer and partial postmark. Extremely eye catching.

A very attractive fancy cancel on 1869 issue.
